Sanitas and HNA reach an agreement on acquisition of Néctar Seguros de Salud

Summary

Sanitas S.A de Seguros (Sanitas) has reached an agreement with Hermandad Nacional de Arquitectos Superiores y Químicos (HNA) to acquire Néctar Seguros de Salud, HNA's health insurance company.

As part of the deal, Néctar’s 34,000 insurance customers will join Sanitas. Néctar's employees will also become part of Sanitas, ensuring customers will continue to access their healthcare services without disruption.

This agreement is another example of Sanitas' commitment to health insurance, where it currently ranks second in Spain with a market share of 17.6%. In 2017, Sanitas grew its insurance membership at a higher rate than the market. This increase was largely a result of its strategic distribution agreements and enhanced customer experience through digital solutions.

The transaction is subject to approval from the Spanish General Directorate for Insurance and Pension Funds and the National Commission on Markets and Competition.
