Quality HealthCare celebrates 150 years of caring for the people of Hong Kong

Summary

This year Quality HealthCare, the health provision arm of Bupa in Hong Kong, is celebrating a significant milestone marking 150 years of serving Hong Kong. Here Elaine Chu, General Manager, Quality HealthCare, reflects on the healthcare provider’s history and its plans for the future.

"Our roots can be traced back to the establishment of medical group Drs. Anderson & Partners in 1868, and since then we have come a long way. Today, our operations span primary healthcare, diagnostics and imaging, and day care specialties. We have more than 110 medical centres and a team of over 1,000 staff who serve the Hong Kong community.

The 150-year milestone provides us an opportunity to both reflect on our past and to look forward to our future. In the era of digitalisation, people’s lifestyles are rapidly changing, and the medical industry is also evolving towards digital development. At Quality HealthCare, we are always looking to innovate and be the industry leader, caring for the long-term health of the people of Hong Kong.

To further improve our digital offering, we will introduce more electronic booking services and integrate medical records to provide personal health information. We will continue to enhance our mobile app offering more convenience to our patients. Alongside this, we will continue to grow our network of clinics.

As well as providing medical services, at Quality HealthCare we promote disease prevention to improve the public’s health from the ground up. In recent years, we have committed to the implementation of the “Healthy Workplace Programme” and have worked with employers to raise employees’ health awareness to prevent diseases as soon as possible – work we will continue.

Healthcare will continue to evolve and, as we look to the future, we will continue to provide great care and quality services to all of our customers. We are excited about what the future holds and have no doubt that our next 150 years will be just as inspiring as our first.

To mark this milestone, we have published ‘150 Years of Caring’ about our rich history, our healthcare stories, our commitment to patient safety, and our support to the industry and community."
