Dedicated Bupa UK care home manager commended
A Bupa UK care home manager has been recognised for the positive difference she makes to everyone around her with her attitude, commitment and expertise.
Linda Marks, Home Manager at Bupa Tenterden House and Bupa Allington Court care homes, was named in Care Home Professional’s Leaders in Care Report 2018. The magazine’s report spotlights inspirational leaders who demonstrate care excellence and innovation in five categories – Executive Management, Care Quality and Compliance, Innovators in Care, Operations and Development, and Leaders of Tomorrow.
Linda was named in the Care Quality and Compliance category. The report highlights her relentless focus on residents, emphasis on continually improving, and holistic approach. It says: “An excellent care home manager, Linda is dedicated, motivated and leads by example to deliver the highest possible quality care for Bupa residents. She has a clear vision to deliver outstanding care, and engages residents, their families and the colleagues at the home to ensure this is achieved.”
Linda’s relentless focus on residents was also recognised by the Care Quality Commission in January 2018 when Tenterden House was awarded an Outstanding rating. This followed a previous Outstanding rating in the ‘well-led service’ category at Allington Court (sister home to Tenterden House) in 2017 – achievements also highlighted in the report.
On hearing she had been named in the Leaders in Care Report 2018, Linda said: “There are some great names in the report, and so I’m hugely proud to see my name on the list alongside them. I never expected it to be – I just go to work with the aim of doing what’s best for residents – so it’s come as a very welcome surprise.”
Joan Elliott, Managing Director for Bupa Care Homes, said: “Linda’s dedication to promoting a positive culture in the homes is demonstrated through a strong emphasis on a personalised approach. Resident feedback clearly demonstrates how Linda puts our residents first, helping them to live the kind of life they want and achieve things they never thought would be possible after moving into a care home. This is testament to Linda’s leadership.”
