Bupa UK announces corporate membership of EMpower and OUTstanding

Summary

Bupa UK is proud to announce it is strengthening its commitment to diversity and inclusion by joining EMpower and OUTstanding, corporate membership organisations committed to creating diverse and inclusive businesses.

More diverse and inclusive organisations out-perform the competition, with the most diverse workplaces 45% more likely to financially outperform their industry average than the least diverse workplaces (INvolve & Cebr, 2018). All colleagues at Bupa will benefit from EMpower and OUTstanding’s suite of programmes, events and advisory work, tailored to shifting the dial on ethnic minority and LGBT+ inclusion respectively and addressing the unique challenges these communities face in the workplace.

EMpower, OUTstanding and Bupa will be working together to support a diverse talent pipeline and empower advocates for inclusion at all levels of the organisation.

Bupa joins a network comprising over 25% of the FTSE100. EMpower and OUTstanding facilitate the formation of cross-industry and cross-sector connections through events and programmes, enabling the sharing of best practice, research and resources.

David Hynam, CEO of Bupa UK, said: “We’re delighted to be working with INvolve to strengthen our commitment to diversity and inclusion. At Bupa we celebrate diversity, welcoming people from all backgrounds and want to be as diverse as the customers, patients and residents we serve.”

Suki Sandhu, CEO and founder of EMpower and OUTstanding, said: “EMpower and OUTstanding are built on the belief that businesses are more profitable, resilient and better places to work when colleagues feel comfortable bringing their whole selves to work. We want to create a business world that involves 100% of everyone and we’re delighted to begin working with Bupa to bring this to life.”
